Well it seems that I got behind more than I thought. When I went to look at my posts I realized it was the 13th not the 12th! So a little more catching up today. Here are days 12 and 13 of our Songs of the Seasons list. How are you doing? Are you familiar with all the songs being posted? If you have suggestions shoot me an email and let me know your favorite song of the season.
Day 12... "Bring a torch, Jeanette Isabelle. Bring a torch come hurry and run"
Day 13... "The Holly and the Ivy when they were both first grown. Of all the trees that are in the woods the Holly bears the crown"
I have been on the road for a quick trip to Chicago to celebrate the life of my friend Shel Trapp. It was a wonderful celebration of a man who gave so much to the world of organizing.
With that said, It's been a busy two days. Haven't had internet or time to post day 10 and 11. Please enjoy day 10 and 11.
Day 10 - "When Joseph was a Old Man, an old man was he"
Richard Crowson and I have a great time as Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie. We perform as the Big Rock Candy Mountaineers. Singing songs of Pete and Woody we share with students the importance of the FOLK. We sing folk songs, play folk instruments, tell folk tales, demonstrate folk dance and show a little folk art in the form of cartooning. We had a great time at Franklin this week. Give us a call for a show in your school.
Check out a couple new videos on the video page. One is from a concert and the other is from a Kindergarten class last spring. I would love to come to your school. Give me a call and let's see if we can work something out.
