Wolf Trap at Midtown Early Childhood Education Center

One of the most fun I can think of is hanging out with preschoolers and singing! This week I started a 14 session residency at the Midtown Early Childhood Education Center where 20 four year old students are always eager to sing and move to the music. As a Wolf Trap Teaching Artist I have the opportunity to go into various classrooms and share with students activities that strengthen their pre-reading skills and teach teachers strategies on how to incorporate music into their curriculum that will expand phonemic awareness and reading literacy. We know the power that music has on us as adults, to use that same power to teach is incredible. If you ever want to see the power of music and literacy in action give me a call and I can arrange a visit to one of my classes. Being a Kansas Wolf Trap Teaching Artist is an honor and a privilege.

It's Friday night and that means it's time for some music. Join us down at the Artichoke Sandwich Bar at 811 N Broadway right here in Wichita. Laura will join me on a set. Our son Paul is scheduled to stop by before his show as Rock Island Live later this evening. It will be a great time of sharing songs and stories. Mention this post and I'll buy the first round. Don't forget to print the coupon to get a great sandwich. If you can't print this one you can find it at the Artichoke website as well. See you all tonight 8-10p.m.

Digital Music Now Available on the Web

I am finally living in the 21st century. My 1997 album When We Gather is now available on CD Baby and your itunes program. Just type in Aaron Fowler in your itunes search and I will come up.

I am working on a new project that includes songs I use in my Early Childhood programs and my phonemic awareness programs. If you have a favorite one please let me know and I will see about adding it to the new collection.

emails back up!

In the change over to this new site my emails were temporarily down. Well actually not down, they were just disappearing into the great abyss. As my friend Shel Trap says "I don't know where it went probably ends up in Lake Michigan." If you sent me something at my aaron@aaronfowler.org address between 6:00 p.m. Tuesday and 1:00 today, please resend. Thanks.
